Our Controllers
Lake Myra Christmas use LOR software and control boards. Our first controllers was 8 channel boards and then as time went on, the company developed the famous 16 channel board. I still like the 8 channel boards because you can use them on smaller displays, but we are limited to 15 amp max current draw on the boards. This is enough to light up around 4500 mini lights. We use 8 of these boards in our show. The 16 channel Deluxe control board is a work horse! It is rated at 40 amps which has the capacity to control up to 12,000 mini lights. These makes up the rest of our control boards in the show to give a total of 346 channels. All of the boards has got to be mounted in a water tight enclosure which now can be ordered from LOR but we were able to find or build our enclosures for this procedure. Below you will find enclosures where we used drop cord pigtails and also common receptacles mounted into a box. We have built 3 enclosures where we mounted 2- 16 channel control boards in them . This gave us a 32 channel enclosure plus each was fed with 4 - 20 amp circuits. Several people have asked us how much power have we got that is dedicated to the display. As of this writing we have 620 amps. NOTE: Don't forget this is a multi family display so we have a lot of power for the display. 2 homes with 200 amp service and 1 with 150 amp service.
